I will teach my kids bad habits, to substain my own problems!!!

So last night Grace slept though the night...as a matter of fact, she frequently sleeps though the night. I am SOOO proud of her, this is a big thing for our little Grace. She went down at 7:30 and slept till 6:00 this morning!!! To make this an even more celebrated event there was a HUGE thunder storm last night. It woke me, and Spencer up...BUT, not Grace. I was so impressed. So this morning...like every morning, Spencer got up with Grace. I love this about my life...every morning Spencecr gets up with Grace. I hate mornings...I LOVE nights! So I stay up late, and then Spencer gets up with Grace!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Unfortunatly this morning Spencer had to go to his early class...thus forcing me to get up with Grace at 7:00!!! I know...cry me a river.
Well I was talking with my mom, and she was telling me that I should be SOOO happy that my baby sleeps though the night now. She said that it is amazing that Grace goes down so early. But then I said "No, I want her to sleep in." She said "well then you better keep her up later!" I said "No, I want her to go to bed early, and sleep in...I want it all!!!"
The only thought I had next, was the song "I want the world" on the willy wonka movie. You know that really spoiled girl, and she sings it when she wants a golden egg.
I kinda felt like her. I felt like I was asking so much...but I really didn't care. I just want what I want...and I don't want any questions asked.
So it is now my goal to get Grace to sleep at night at around 8:30, and then have her sleep in til 9:00! What do you think? I might be asking for the world...but why shouldn't I ask for that...

Yay for sleeping babies!

I think that what you will find is that if you put her to bed at 6:30, she will wake up at 6:00, if you put her to bet at 7:30, she will wake up at 6:00 and if you put her to bed at 10:30, she will wake up at 6:00.

At least that has been our experience so we decided to work the system and put him to bed between 6:00 and 6:30 to maximize the "quiet time" we can have.

If you find different, be sure to let us know so we can try again because Kristina LOVES sleeping in (and secretly so do I).

Hmmm...doesn't seem like such a difficult request. I mean, really. You brought her into the world. She should at least respect you enough to sleep through it! : )

It never works for me. Rock (who is now 2) can go to bed at midnight and will still get up at 6:30. Good Luck though, she may surprise you.

I'm so glad she is sleeping good for you now.

My kids wake up at the same time in the morning no matter what time they go to bed, so I put them down around 8 and they wake up around 7.

My experiance is the same of the comment left by Seth. No matter what time we put Parker to sleep he will wake at the same time.... I am beginning to think that babies have some sort of internal alarm that goes off!

My kids bed time used to be 9:30 and they would wake up around 8:30/9:00 in the morning, It's been their routine...never would fail. I loved it! But now I am watching my little 8 year old sister and I have to be the one to take her to school by 7:30am and pick her up in the afternoon (which would be my kids nap times)...I had to revise the schedule a bit. Now they go to bed at 8:30pm and wake up at 7:00am. Thier nap time is now 10:30 where before it was noon. But they've done well with the change! I am sure Grace will too! Ethan is 9 mos and Hailey is 2 and I've had no problems. :)

I totally know what you mean! I want Jaxon to go down at like 8 and wake up at 8, but that will never happen! I want time in the evening with Devin and time in the morning for me to sleep!

I agree with Seth here who says they will wake up the same time no matter what. With Jaxon we're finding that when he goes to bed depends on if and when he has a nap. If it's early and short, it'll be easy to put him to sleep. If it's too long and late, it's so late when he goes down.
