When Spencer and I were dating he would do the most remarkably sweet things for me. I am not kidding...I don't know how he came up with them. Not only did he do really great and romantic things, but he did them for about a year and 1/2 before I would actually marry him. That takes stamina...and let me tell you...stamina is something my man doesn't lack.
One day I came home from work or school, or something, and turn on my light (my light and fan were connected, so when I turned on the light the fan came on as well). Right away I was covered in fresh rose petals. Spencer had put rose petals on the top of my fan blades and it made for a really romantic moment.
Spencer was constantly leaving me notes on my car, and setting up really detailed scavenger hunts that lead to fun presents. He truly was the greatest boyfriend any girl could ask for.
OH, I forgot one. There was this one time in the library at MCC that he got cereal, and milk, and had me meet him in a study room. When I came up he had breakfast all set up for me. It was so cute. YOu aren't allowed to eat in the library...but that didn't detour my man...he is such a rebel.
Anyways, fast forward about 2 years. Now that we are married Spencer still does wonderful things for me, but they are different.
Spencer is always trying to make me happy...and let me tell you...sometimes I am not that easy to make happy.
Last night I came home. There was a note on the door that said "Happy Valentines day Jami, I Love You!". It was so sweet, then Spencer came home (he was at a school review). I gave him a kiss and said "thank you, I love you too."
THAN we went inside. There was ANOTHER note on our cupboard. It said "look in here" in there was a can opener!!!! My can opener just broke, and I have been wanting another one. It was so thoughtful. THEN on the freezer there was another note that said "look in here", and in there, there was a lime press. I have been WANTING one of those forever. Every time I see one, I always say "I want one of those". He got me a garlic press too!
Oh, and just before I went to bed, I layed my head on my pillow, and I felt something under it. I pulled out a heart monitor watch. I have been wanting one of those that has a monitor with a stop watch count down. I can't wait to go running today to try it out!
Does my man know me or what. He knew the things that I wanted most. He knows how much I love to cook, and run.
Spencer is just amazing. I am so happy with him. He could have just loved me for valentines day, and I would have been happy with that too...but he knows how much I love gifts.
I love my man!

I was always so jealous of you when spencer would leave all those notes and things when we lived at Grandmas. Its like he was rubbing it in my face or something that I didnt have a boyfriend.
LOL at Whitney's comment. Spencer is such a great guy-- not that I'm just saying that because he's my brother. b/c I don't have to say that! :) And the best part is that he picked you to add to our family! We're so lucky to have you all!
Just make sure you tell him on a regular basis just how much you appreciate it all!!! You are one lucky chick!

First. I need you to note that I am actually COMMENTING!!! Mark the calendar!! Okay, gee. Spencer really does have a 'strength' in the romantic category doesn't he?? Okay, well he takes the cake Jam. Soak it up having such a romantic husband, that is all adorable!
What a sweetheart husband you have! So I was just catching up on your blog, and I have a suggestion for snacking at night time! If I brush my teeth early, I don't eat anything because heaven forbid I have to brush them again before I go to bed! OR, if you paint your fingernails, that keeps you from digging in to a bag of snacks, because you don't want to smudge them/eat fingernail polish. Good luck with your last 6 pounds! You are totally amazing!
