So since I was asked about 10 times at Church today "are you pregnant?"...I guess I will explain! I didn't even remember writing about our new addition, till this morning when patti clement asked me (in whispers) "are you pregnant? Hahah, Spencer thought it would be funny to lead people to believe that I was. If I am pregnant I would just about DIE! It would be a act of God. I do not want to be pregnant...I probably shouldn't be so admit that I don't want a baby right now, or heavenly father will give me one. But I really want to wait acouple more years.
We are getting a DOG! I know what a lot of people are thinking "what the hell is Jami thinking?" I am usually thinking that about myself as well.
For our anniversary Spencer wanted to go and look at the Pound! I thought "why not, I have never been there." We didn't plan on getting a dog AT ALL. We had a mind set of just looking at all the cute little doggies. But then Spencer spotted the most beautiful dog. It was a Newfoundland/lab mix. It was full grown, and just standing there looking at us. All the other dogs were barking, and running around in their kennels, and "Reilly" was just standing there looking around. So Spencer sat there for a while, and tried to get to know him. He didn't wag his tail for Spencer, so he was going to walk away. Just then I walked up, and "Reilly" started to wag his tail (I have that affect on people, and dogs). So Spencer asked if we could take him out (I sorta knew that we would probably get him at this point). He was such a nice dog. He had been holding his pee for hours and hours and hours, so as soon as we got him outside he peed for like 10 mins (good sign, he might be poody trained). WAIT...back up, there are other details I want to tell. So when we took him out, his tail was in between his legs. I guess that isn't a good sign (per Spencer). So Spencer was kinda disappointed. BUT, as soon as "Reilly" peep, he was all fun and games. He just needed to go!
So Spencer took him on a walk, and he walked PERFECT. He stayed right by Spencer. Then I took him on a run with me, and he was such a good runner. He stayed with me, and was so good and stopping, and starting. So we played for a little, and then decided that we couldn't leave there without him.
SO we did the paper work, and they told us we can pick him up on Monday at 2:30. He has to get his balls chopped off!
I wish that we could have him now, but I am so happy that they will nuder him for FREE!
This was Spencer's gift for our anniversary. He is so excited, and so am I. I really do love the dog, and I think he will be really good. He is so sweet, and laid back. That is what I need, laid back.
I will post some pictures of him tomorrow after I pick him up. OH, and later that night we took Grace down to see him. She loved him, and he loved her.
SO that leads me to my next question. Should we change his name? He has a tag on him that says "Reilly"...but I don't love that name for him. I sorta want to change it to "Finn"...BUT that is another problem. The lady across the street has a dog named "Finn". I LOVE the name for a dog, but do you think it is tacky to copy? I also think "Gus" would be a good name. So question #1. Should we change the name at all?
question #2. If so, should it be Finn.
question #3. If not Finn, should it be Gus.
PS. I have always loved the name Finn for a dog.
The End

I like them all. Gus would be cute. Im glad you arent pregnant. I know what that would do to you.
Jami, I hope I didn't overstep any boundaries. I must have been the first to ask.I hope you don't mind me reading yur blog. I followed it over from camilles. I think your little family is so cute and I am interested in what you are doing. The pound must have been a popular place yesterday, my son was there and wanted to bring a friend home too. I'm glad he didnt have the money for it. As far a another baby goes,(For you) all in good time. Patti
Um, I like Reilly. I think it's cute. Plys, it's his name already...but I do think it is kind of tacky naming your dog after your neighboors dog, but what do I know? I am wierd about stuff like that. I'm sad your not pregnant. You need to have another one soon so that when I have a baby they will be BFFs:).Oh, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
Spencer's a stinker. What a cruel trick to play. I would have been surprised if you'd been pregnant, but I would have been excited for you too!
As for your dog's name, I don't have much of an opinion. Gus makes me think of the mouse on Cinderella though. But they are all good names! Can't wait to see pictures of the "new addition."
Jami
Gus is the name of our dog. I think its a great name! Of course our dog is a little wiener dog but Gus will fit for any sized dog
yay for a dog! He sounds perfect. I think you should rename him, but not Finn. Save Finn for the next dog you get.
Happy Anniversary! and I love the name Finn, too. Does he know his name, though? that might be the tricky part if he is full grown.
All of the names are super-cute. Can't wait to see a picture of him.
Oh patti, you did not over step you bounds AT ALL. I was just telling my bloggin people that you were the first person to remind me that I was playing that trick on people.
I love it when people read my blog. I don't mind if ANYONE reads. Patti you are the best.
If the dog knows his name then it might be hard on him if you change it. I think Reilly is a cute name :P
I knew it was a dog ;)
