Blessed!

Dear Posterity:

Don't let the title fool you. I am NOT feeling blessing. That doesn't meant that I'm NOT blessed, it simply means that I'm not feeling the vibe.

This morning, well and the last 4 months worth of mornings I wake up feeling....U.G.L.Y.

I know. It's like I traveled back to 8Th grade. Gained 20 pounds, and got the nastiest rash all over the bottom half of my face. You can only imagine the kind of drama this has created. No you can't imagine? OK, I'll illuminate you.

So this morning I woke up. I have been trying to lose the weight. No really. I have been TRYING. No weight loss. THEN I look in the mirror. RASH. Bright red, nasty, bumpy, flaky RASH!!!! Usually this is no big deal. I just stay in my house in my PJ's all day. No one has to see me...not even me. If I am careful I can avoid looking in the mirror ALL DAY! This morning was different. I had to get a 3 ring binder for Grace to take to Preschool. That means I had to leave the comforts of my home. That's when all hell broke lose.
I wander around Walgreen's in misery. I HATE those stupid mirrors they have at the top of their walls. The angled ones. Lame...I don't want to look at myself. I grab the first pink binder I see, and dart to the cashier. I am checking out. This nice women comes walking up behind me. She immediately says "hello, how are you?" to both me and the cashier. The cashier says "good, you". The women sighs and says "blessed".
For some reason, it just hit me. How unbelievably STUPID I was acting. I told her that I loved her response. She told me that "that is what Jesus does for you."
WOW, I was floored. I definitely need to change my outlook. I still hate my rash, and I still hate having to lose 20 pounds. But I am BLESSED. Its true.
