Here is the question of the day:
"How do you get on the "miracles" list?"
Let me explain. As I was running the other night (well it was like 2 weeks ago). I thought..."how the heck does one get on the miracles list?"
What do I mean by "miracle".
example1: Someone has chronic back pain. They get a blessing. When the blessing is over, they have no more back pain. FOREVER.
example2: Someone has a chronic foot problem. It is debilitating. They pray. The next day their foot pain is gone. FOREVER.
Do you see a pattern? The pattern is...ready for it...EASY. Yeah, I feel like miracles are EASY! They involve doing almost nothing, and getting EVERYTHING in return. It is very possible that I don't understand miracles simply because my family and I have never had one. Before you get your panties in a bundle...wait...I will explain, and redeem myself.
I contemplated this "miracle" problem for day/weeks/months. I have wondered over and over again, why the lord chooses to "heal" some, but lets others work it out over time...OR live with problems for the rest of their lives. Again, I wonder, "how does one get on the easy list?"
Here is my miracle. My miracle is perception. The lord has made me happy with problems. He has put hope in my heart, and understand in my mind. And I will except that.
I would still take the "easy" miracle. I won't lie...I would take that any day. But I kinda understand miracles a little better these days. I kinda think there are LOTS of different miracles?
Like for instance. ADVIL??? Those are little miracles stuffed in a bottle, and put on shelf's for the world to love and enjoy. You have pain, then you take the small (sugar coated) pill, and...WAH-LA...30 mins later your pain is gone. It is as close to a "easy" miracle that I have ever come...and I LOVE IT!
Those are my thoughts for the day. What do you think about miracles?

Nice thoughts. I think the miracle of peace and peace of mind is one of the greatest miracles god can give us (and yes painkillers too).
If you ever find the miracle list sign our family up, your family especially!! I keep thinking there is something we need to learn by everything.
I've wondered about these things too. I think synthetic insulins are a miracle and am grateful that we have them. But I hope that if there ever comes a time that we can't get insulin for Charlotte (natural disasters, war, etc) that I have enough faith that she could be healed. Meanwhile, I'm stockpiling insulin-- it's scary to think you could ever be without a life-saving drug.
P.S. When you find the list, put me on it too.
Hey Jami, I have always appreciated your happiness in life, even if you think you aren't positive about stuff I think you are!!! you always keep me laughing!
Agreed- I think that we are given whatever we need to progress and grow the most. And that growth can occur by getting miracles or not getting them. Obviously, you hope you're on the miracle end of things, ha ha.
I've always been okay with that, but then nothing in my life has happened that I've absolutely NEEDED a miracle. Hopefully if/when it does, I'll have the faith (and not need the experience without the miracle to grow).
I think you hit the nail on the head. Our perception can be our miracle. Our trials make us stronger. I guess sometimes we don't get the miracle that gets rid of the problem, because we need the blessings and growth that come as a result of that trial.
I'm totally with you on Advil being a miracle!
You're great, Jami. Y'know?
I liked this.
You gave me some things to think about.
So...if you find out how to get on that list in the next two days, please put me on it! I take my boards on Thursday and it's going to take a miracle for me to pass them!! By the way, you said that you were running...how's the pace maker working for you???
i really liked your perspective on this. thanks for sharing!
