Yes, I finally got my washer and dryer!!! And no, I didn't even have to sell my armorer to get them!
All I needed was to be friendly. This is how the story goes. I met a guy in my Nutrition class. He happens to look JUST like Luke (on Gilmore Girls). He was trying to get rid of a washer and dryer, and I was trying to get some. It was met to be!
Now I can do my OWN Landry at my OWN house. Can life get any better....I think not!!!
They are kinda old, and touchy...but my mom came over and told me how to work with ghetto washers and dryers. I really don't' care how old they are, or how touchy they are....as long as they work I am a happy homemaker.
You may not believe me when I say this....Ok, maybe I don't really believe me either...but I almost LIKE doing Landry now??? WHAT???? I know...it won't last. It is kinda like how I used to LIKE sweeping and mopping my new floors in my new house...yea, it is over and done with. BUT, I am going to really enjoy it while it lasts.
SECOND thing that is making me REALLY happy. Linens and Things is going out of business. This means that I got this bedding....
for almost nothing...OK, it wasn't nothing, and to be completely honest I really shouldn't have spent the money. BUT, I just wanted it so bad, and it is so soft and nice. The sheets are like...heavenly...and it is just beautiful. I really feel like it is "grown up" bedding. So now that I have my OWN washer and dryer...don't you think I should have my OWN grown up bedding??? Me too...
It was about 400$ worth of bedding...at the ORIGINAL PRICE...I got it for less than 200 FOR ALL OF IT!
OK, are you hating me yet...don't worry I am going to slap on some bad news now. So I bought all of this bedding, and came home and was going to put it on my bed...and low and behold there was no bed skirt or shames in the bedding set???? WHAT...I am PISSED! AND to make things worse...ALL SALES ARE FINAL!
So I marched down to the store today to see if I could work something out...NO WAY...
Manager: "ALL SALES ARE FINAL"
The kind (no really she was a B#@%*...with a CAPITAL "B"): "you should have looked in the bag before you bought it."
Me: "um, I realize that, why would I be standing here if I thought to look in the bag before I bought it, and I realized ONE HUNDRED times last night and this morning that I should have looked in the dang (OK and said the bad word, but I can't help it, I have a sailors mouth) bag!! And further more, this is terrible customer service...why would you, as a service rep, tell me a customer what I should have done. Isn't it YOUR job to make sure that the stuff is in the bag???"
The kind (no really she was a B#@%*): blank stare
Manager: "all sales are final"
Me: "give me the number of your manager"
The Managers, Manager: "I'm her manager" (she was standing right by the lady that I just yelled at)
Me: "this is unbelievable", and then I left
Now, I realize that I MIGHT (but it is a very slight chance) have over reacted?? But don't you think that is dumb? They should have taken it back...don't' you think? I realized the policy, and I realize that I SHOULD have looked in the bag..but I was MISSING a bed skirt and shames???
Don't' worry, I am going to fix it...or better yet my mom is. Did I mention that my mom is a saint? Well she is
SO I am back to being REALLY happy about my bedding!

Whats really dumb, is the bedding came in package listing this contained in it. The store would put a note on everything that wasn't complete. Well, I talked to the manager and he admitted he knew it didn't have the whole set and he told an employee to put a note on it, and they didn't. Thats the stores fault, not ours. Its the stores obligation to correct the packages listing if its not correct, not the customers.
I now see why they are going out of buisness!!!

yay for washers and dryers! That and the dishwasher are my favorite parts of the house.
Lame about the house, but it's still a good deal for what you got. I'm sorry that they are being jerks about it though.
