I hung the mirror, that got taken apart. Put the plates in. I REALLY like it. But I still kinda think it should be black??? What do you think?
THEN I (my mom) painted the ugly door RED!!! I think it looked TEN TIMES BETTER! I am also working on painted the french doors red. But they require A LOT of taping off...so it is taking more time.
K-but everytime I take a picture of my back room it looks TERRIBLE! What gives? What can I do to change it? I think it looks OK when I am just sitting in it, looking around...but as soon as I take a picture it looks TERRIBLE! I think the fireplace needs SOMETHING...but I have no money! I have GREAT plans..but they take lots of money.

The red door looks great! And I love the mirror the color it is...but black would be good too!
Jami My best friend had issues with her fireplace bricks and painted them brown. I thought it sounded odd but it looks amazing. Have you considered doing something like that?
The red door is AMAZING. and I think the way you have a bench at your table with that sweet back board is really cool. I like it.
Hi Jami, I love the kitchen, I might like the mirror black and greenery would help that corner next to the door and under the mirror. I'll come over and look. Pictures never do anything justice. My thighs never look good in a picture, but Uncle Keith says they're great in real life.

I just want to second some of the other comments. The door looks great. I'd consider some greenery in the corner. I also had a friend paint a fireplace, and it looked great. It could be a quick fix until you can fix it the way you really want to. One other idea to consider might be crown moulding around the top of the walls.
But I think your room looks good in the pictures. I like the plates/frame. I LOVE your light above your table. You have the cutest ideas!!!!

Seeing as how I'm not one bit crafty, I don't have any advice. I think it's awesome that you do all these cool projects though and I also enjoy the door. One more thing, I noticed that in your dining room you have a picture bulletin board type thing hanging up. Did you make that? If so, was it difficult? I've been thinking of making one for Addy's room, but if it's difficult or involves any sewing then I won't be doing it.

I vote for the mirror black. And your house looks very cute in person. I often think pictures are a lot less flattering.
