Turkey Hunt

This weekend I went out with my brothers hunting some turkeys. We had a blast. We headed out Thursday night and went up onto the rim. Slept under the stars and I saw shooting stars all night, forgot how much I love that. We got up friday and hunted most the day. We had a couple of detours into the small small town of Clint Wells and went to Blue Ridge Reservoir. We saw some pretty country (one of the pictures is of us overlooking the edge of the rim). We didn't see much on friday other than a big Coues Buck. We did have some fun chasing some squirrels and shooting, Sterling got one and we cooked it up for dinner. All I can say is it passed my expectations. It was really really good. So Saturday we woke up to storm clouds and it drizzled/rained all day. We did see one of the biggest bull Elks I have ever seen with a few cows but others than that nothing. It was than Saturday afternoon and we were about ready to head home but we decided to check out one more back road and sure enough, out running in front of us is about 12 turkeys. I ran to cut them off as my brother Sterling chased them down. After a good chase (Turkeys can run!!!) Sterling was able to get one and I chased some more but you can't catch them when then run up and down canyons or decide to fly. But in my chase I saw another decent sized bull elk and some cows just 20 yards in front of me. We had fun plucking feathers for awhile and then called it a trip and headed home. I loved it.

Wassup Texas Ranger? Atta Kid. Sounds like way too much fun man. There's nothing like being outdoors. I will hopefully be able to get out this season for the hunt. We're still eating all of our meat from last year so we'll see. Your a good egg Spencer.

My dad thinks that turkey hunting is the GREATEST THING EVER! :P He also cuts his turkeys into steaks and it is amazingly good.
