happy birthday??

It was not a week ago that I was typing up the Relief Societies bulletin that I realized it was my birthday in a WEEK!! You see, I have to put every ones birthday in the bulletin every week. I couldn't believe I had forgotten my birthday. I have been planning Graces birthday for months now...she still has 2 more months to go. It kinda made me feel like a semi-good parent that I had forgotten MY birthday, and was busy planning my kids...I do what I can to rationalize my selfishness.
Anyways, my mom and Spencer were asking me what I wanted for my birthday....

I thought of MANY things that I wanted for my birthday..
*a new car
*the house to be done
*a whole new wardrobe
*to be skinny
*to get rid of my stretch marks
*a bike
*to decorate my bedroom, and bathroom
*to get new bathrooms in the new house
*to be able to make tassels like the cutest ever lady on "nesting place"
*to make window "mistreatment's"
*to get patio furniture

OK, so you get the point...I thought of LOTS AND LOTS of things I wanted (my problem in life isn't that I can't think of things I want...it is that I can't afford them). So since I won't let Spencer enter the lottery (it is Satan's money), I had to limit myself to what I COULD get for my birthday.
I asked my mom and aunts for "cute" lounge clothing. Yes, you read right. I always wear my "paint" clothes EVERYWHERE! I am not even kidding. I hate wearing jeans and what I like to referee to as "real" clothes. So I asked for cute lounge clothes.
I asked my in-laws for a gift card to a fabric store...so I could make my tassel dreams come true. You guys are going to be so jealous when I make them!!
Then Grace...I asked her to sleep though the night, and be the nicest baby in the world on my birthday...she said "go to hell"!
SO the last person on the list would be Spencer...this was my list to my husband.
*Sleep in
*take a nap
*read my book all day
*get lunch
*get a massage
*do absolutely NOTHING I didn't want to do the WHOLE day!
AND (here is the best part)...I wanted him to be happy about it all day. When he was rubbing my feet I wanted him to be telling me how much he loved rubbing my feet. When he was cleaning the house, I wanted him to tell me how much he LOVED cleaning the house. I always have a problem with Guilt. I love it when people serve me..but then I always feel "oh, I should be doing that"...so by having Spencer smile while serving me I eliminated that Problem. Spencer actually did pretty good at it. I got to sleep in. Then he had to go and work at the house. BUT, my good friend Brittnay came over and gave me a great gift card to "home goods" (one of my favorite stores). THEN I got to go out to lunch with some other great friends..Kami and Steven (kami gave me the cutest easel, I am so excited!)d. We went to Krazy Sub, and I got EXTRA mayo...cuz it was my birthday.
Then I came back home, and put Grace to sleep. Then I made Spencer lay down with her, and I went and shopped at Joanna's!!! It was so much fun!
Basically the day was really fun! I loved getting my way ALL DAY LONG! Well not all day...by the end of the night Spencer was tie rd of doing it my way...but it was OK.
All in all it was a great birthday, and I am so grateful for all the great stuff that my family and friends got me.
